    Large medallion portrait of a young boy by Auguste Joseph Delécluse.
    Oil on canvas mounted on a keyed stretcher, signed "A. Delécluse" and dated 1884 lower left.
    Original gilt frame.

    Auguste Joseph Delécluse (1855–1928) was a French painter and founder of the Académie Delécluse.
    He studied under Carolus-Duran, Paul-Louis Delance, and Jean-Joseph Weerts. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1880 and received an honorable mention in 1889, then at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1890. The Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts held a retrospective of his works in 1930 in Paris.
