Pierre Anfosso (December 1, 1928 in La Crau - November 5, 2004 in Hyères) is a French painter.
Pierre Anfosso was born in 1928 near Toulon, in the Var. After high school and a scientific baccalaureate, he entered the School of Fine Arts in Toulon in 1948, to study architecture, then became a student of painters Eugene Baboulene and Henri Pertus, and discovered Bonnard, Edouard Vuillard and Jean Pougny.
In 1950, with fellow students from the school: Gilbert Louage, Jacques Burois, Monique Ducreux, Monique Roy and Lucien Long, he created the Group 50 which exhibited at the Toulon gallery "La Palette", at the Toulon Museum of Fine Arts, at the Menton Biennial and at the exhibition of the Young Mediterranean Painting.
In the years that followed, he participated in numerous group or personal exhibitions and received several painting awards. Over the decades, his inspirations will go to De Staël and Rothko.
