Philippe de Marlier, born around 1573, died in 1668 in Antwerp, is a Flemish painter of the Baroque period.
He is known for his still lifes faithfully depicting flowers and fruits.
He is also known for his oil paintings depicting religious devotion (saints, Madonnas surrounded by flowers or garlands of flowers and fruits (currants) where we can sometimes distinguish insects (butterflies, etc.) or snails like this was done frequently in Dutch still lifes of the period or eras that followed.
