    Pierre Théron, born in 1918 in Nérac and died on December 22, 2001 in Mérignac, is a painter, sculptor, mosaicist, fresco artist, author of numerous cartoons of French Aubusson tapestries.
    His son, Dominique Théron, has devoted a short film, The Lost Summer, awarded a Cesar for best short documentary in 1988. Pierre Théron studied at the School of Fine Arts in Bordeaux, in the workshop of René Buthaud and André Caverne. In 1942, he was awarded first place in the entrance exam to the National School of Fine Arts in Paris where he studied with André Lhote and Jean Dupas. That year he met Simone de Beauvoir. He then took refuge in the Tarn, under the Vichy regime. At the liberation, he returned to Paris, where he met Boris Vian, Roland Petit and Les Frères Jacques.
    In the 1970s, he designed a set of wall decorations, mosaic facade, tapestry inside, for the Maison du Paysan in Bordeaux.
