An elegant glazed porcelain animal figurine by the German manufacturer Karl Ens, depicting a magnificent parakeet delicately perched on a lifelike branch.
This piece captivates with the finesse of its modeling and the softness of its colors. The powder-pink plumage, with its subtle nuances, contrasts with the pale yellow tones of the body and the delicate lavender-blue shades of the long tail feathers. The slightly tilted head highlights the finely striated crest as well as the blue details that accentuate the bird’s gaze.
The sculptural work elegantly captures the texture of the feathers, while the ivory branch, with its sinuous lines, lends the piece a beautiful sense of movement. The base, crafted to resemble a tree stump, harmoniously completes this naturalistic composition.
The reverse bears Karl Ens’s characteristic green stamp, accompanied by the inscription “Germany,” attesting to its connection to the famous artistic porcelain manufactory in Volkstedt, Thuringia, Germany.
In good condition; note a virtually invisible micro-chip on one of the branches at the base of the sculpture.
