Bisque porcelain bust on a fluted column base, gilded in fine gold. It represents Madame Récamier, after the work of Joseph Chinard (circa 1805). Early 19th century, unsigned. Probably produced by Manufacture de Niderviller.

Juliette Récamier is known for the brilliant salon she held in Paris from the Directoire to the July Monarchy, and also for her great beauty.

A fine collector's item, highly evocative of the atmosphere and decoration of the early 19th century, under the Empire and Restoration.

In excellent condition: no chips, no accidents, no wear to the gilding.

    Height: 30.5cm
    Width of base: 9cm
