Royal Dux Bohemia Biscuit Porcelain Statue of a Shepherd
Damaged
H 80 cm
Founded in 1853 near Prague in Dux, initially to produce utilitarian objects, the factory was acquired by Eduard Eichler, a renowned artist, marking the beginning of its prosperity. However, it was from 1898 onward, following its relocation to Berlin, that works of remarkable quality were produced.
This important factory created vases and figurines, often depicting female figures, in exuberant decorations of flowers and leaves on shell bases, fountains, and other motifs. The porcelain was left in biscuit form, gilded or painted, often in green.
The factory is still in operation today.
