*Auguste Moreau (1831-1917)
third son of the statuary and painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau, he learned about sculpture with his brother Mathurin. In 1861, he made his debut at the Salon, where he exhibited regularly and extensively until 1913. His subjects relate him to other members of the Moreau dynasty. Many bronzes are among his submissions to the Salon, as well as marbles and plasters. Many subjects, then very fashionable, by Auguste Moreau were published in bronze.
