Statuette in porcelain of Limoges of the manufacture Robj-, representing the famous singer Maurice Chevalier (characteristic with his cane and his hat).
This company was founded by Jean Born in 1908 then it is developed by Lucien Willemetz who directed it alone from 1922. It is him who really influences and marks the style of the house ROBJ. He surrounded himself with sculptors, modelers and fire technicians.
The main part of the activity is devoted to the edition of humorous and utilitarian trinkets in porcelain or in fine earthenware or in glass, which borrow colored forms inspired by cubism, often anthropomorphic. Like our statuette which was used as a cotton reel.
Around 1930.
