Rare and beautiful pair of two-handled vases in Paris porcelain (unmarked) - size 47 x 22 cm - The handles are decorated with nasturtiums in perfect harmony with the two subjects that make up the central decoration of the vases - In fact, the two color drawings, finely executed by hand, are almost identical, the women flowers created by Jean Jacques Grandville and published under the title "Les Fleurs animées" by De Gonet in 1846 - The original drawings are kept at the Musée des Beaux Arts in Nancy - Here, one is dedicated to the eglantine (only the bush in the background is missing from the original) and the other to the cactus flower (on the vase...), The production of Fleurs animées corresponds to the end of the artist's life, when he was once again mourning the loss of a child - This work was a great success in France and around the world - It's not surprising that these subjects were taken up by Porcelaine de Paris, This pair of vases, perfectly in keeping with its period, appears to be extremely rare and adds another reference to our knowledge of the artist.
