Very beautiful small Limoges porcelain ball vase by Camille Tharaud, circa 1920-1940, probably 1930s, modernist Art Nouveau style. Stamped under the base: Tharaud, France, Limoges, as well as two incised inscriptions, a mold mark, and a decorator's mark. Porcelain with a nuanced white/beige glaze, decorated with stylized fern leaves shaped like fiddleheads, extending upwards from the base, in shades of brown, hazelnut, pale brown, and peacock green/dark turquoise. Small, short, upturned neck with a peacock green/dark turquoise border. 14.5-15cm high, approximately 14.5-15cm in maximum diameter. Very good overall condition, no chips or cracks. It does, however, have a few very discreet scratches and small abrasions. Approximately 500-600g.
