About : Louis Albert Carvin was admitted to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he studied with Emmanuel Frémiet and Georges Gardet. A member of the Société des artistes français, he exhibited at its Salons from the end of the 19th century to 1933. He received an honorable mention in 1894.
Specializing in animal sculpture, his models include deer, hinds, lions, lionesses, panthers, birds, wolfhounds and sometimes horses, as in the group L'Accolade featuring a pair of thoroughbreds, published by the J.B. Paris foundry.
