A bronze rooster perched on a car wheel, rendered in a naturalistic and realistic style reminiscent of the great animal sculptors of the late 19th century, such as Auguste Cain or Prosper Lecourtier.

Our example is believed to have been made by the Niclausse company, boiler manufacturers who also built a few automobiles between 1904 and 1914, and who may have chosen this rooster as a radiator mascot.
A similar model appears in the book "La folie des bouchons de radiateurs" (The Madness of Radiator Caps) by Dominique Pascal, published by Flammarion, on page 260.
