This bronze with a brown patina represents a Chinese sage raising his left hand on the back of a Fao dog. His posture shows his skill and the simplicity with which he tames the mythical animal, defender of the temple of Buddha. Its lion shape makes it the symbol of the protection of the home, happiness and fortune, possibly represented by the small purse held by the sage.
This decorative element of Asian Art consists of two elements that can be separated from each other, allowing small objects to be slipped inside.
