Jean Garnier (1853-1930) was a sculptor, enameler and chaser from Mouzeuil-Saint-Martin, in the Vendée region. Self-taught, he mastered a variety of materials including marble, terracotta, bronze and pewter. He also created enamel jewelry.
He enjoyed a notable career in Paris, participating regularly in the Salon from 1883 to 1905, before returning to his native region in 1910. His works include Art Nouveau sculptures and monuments. He died in poverty and oblivion in 1930.
