Bronze with golden patina, featuring two imps, resting on a black marble base.
The figures bear the characteristic physical attributes of the servants of the Underworld: horns, pointed ears, goatee and tail. Here, they are shown wheelbarrowing and carrying a cauldron. The cauldron is topped by a removable openwork plate, which can be removed at will.
In this scene, the diableteaux are laughing and being facetious. The first, standing, holds the second by the ankles, who himself balances his arms on a wheel axle, a snake around his neck.
You'll be amazed by this finely-detailed bronze, which can also be diverted from its decorative purpose to serve as a small pocket or cigarillo holder.
