    Psyche Awakened by Cupid's Kiss
    After Antonio Canova
An important sculpture depicting Psyche awakened by Cupid's kiss, inspired by the famous model created by Antonio Canova. This work delicately illustrates the moment when Cupid awakens Psyche from her enchanted sleep, in a composition imbued with grace and sensuality.
The group, finely sculpted in alabaster, captivates with the quality of its execution, the softness of its modeling, and the elegance of its lines. Cupid's outstretched wings harmoniously frame the two embracing figures, while the treatment of the draperies and hair testifies to remarkable craftsmanship.

Resting on an oval base of white Carrara marble, this sculpture is made of several elements. The removable wings can be detached to facilitate transport and ensure its complete safety.

Italian School, Carrara workshop, late 19th – early 20th century.

Materials: carved alabaster and Carrara white marble base.

    Period: late 19th – early 20th century.
    Condition: excellent condition.

A very fine interpretation of Canova's famous group, created by an Italian workshop in Carrara at the turn of the 20th century, combining quality of execution, neoclassical elegance, and a striking decorative presence.
