This Buddha was offered between 1861 and 1870 to a relative of Charles Georges Soulié (known as George Soulié de Morant, sinologist and Mongolian - 1878-1955), diplomat in China from 1903 to 1909, and principal promoter of acupuncture in France and the West from 1929 onwards), who, after graduating from Polytechnique, was appointed to Thailand as Embassy Attaché in Ayutthaya and then Bangkok.
This Buddha was presented to him by King Rama V himself.
