Originally from Champagne in the 19th century, this polychrome religious sculpture is the work of a popular artist inspired by the Romanesque period. Standing and tall, the Virgin carries her naked child in her left hand while her right hand holds a pomegranate that her son covers with his hand. It is sculpted in a heavy stone weighing about fifty kilos.
