A magnificent little Qilin/Kylin, a Chinese Jiaozhi ceramic piece crafted with hand-painted polychrome glaze, entirely hand-decorated and bearing four stamps on the base. Vintage from the 1960s–1980s. A very beautiful and particularly expressive depiction, featuring an abundance of fine relief details and very vivid colors. The Qilin has a body covered in scales and flames, a voluminous mane styled in scrolls, an open mouth revealing fangs and tongue, and a long, raised tail. It rests on a rectangular base richly decorated with foliage and flowers, surrounded by various attributes and symbolic objects. A very beautiful and fairly rare collector’s item, sold with its original storage box made of red and gold brocade fabric, featuring clasps.

Maximum length at the base: 14 cm; maximum height: 15 cm; maximum depth at the base: 7 cm. Overall in very good condition; however, there is a small repaired area accompanied by a small chip at the top of the mane, which is fairly inconspicuous and could be restored if desired. Approximately 500–600 grams.
