Large plaster bas-relief medallion after Pierre Jean David D'Angers depicting the profile of Louis-Jérôme Gohier (1788-1830), magistrate and politician in the early 19th century. This casting is based on a slightly larger plaster cast (60 cm in diameter) made around 1840, now in the Musée David D'Angers. Another sculpted marble medallion adorns Louis-Jérôme Gohier's tomb in the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris. Bronze medallions can also be found in the collections of the Musée du Louvre and the Musée Carnavalet.
