Rémy Pagart, GROUMPH! High Sculpture in metal, foam and synthetic fur. Rémy Pagart initially worked in decoration, interior architecture and design. This background instilled in him a taste for working with materials; his works are born from their interaction; reflection comes later. A tinkerer by nature, even by profession, he develops new techniques, such as for his plastic paintings; stapling and stuffing rather than traditional and polluting collage. His furry characters populating his installations are no exception (Hotel Europa “Bang-Bang” at the Gare Saint-Sauveur or his “Monster” room for Lille 3000 Fantastic). Rémy Pagart defines himself more as a visual artist than an artist; He'll talk to you more about fine craftsmanship than the art market, or simply to tell you that, in his opinion, these days it's the market that dictates art… Born in the 60s, he was influenced by Pop Art and the excesses of the 70s, hence his unbridled passion for color and enjoyment.
