Set of brutalist wall sculptures signed B + D, circa 1965–1975

A set of six wall-mounted compositions in hammered metal, copper, brass, and blackened steel, featuring magnificent red and orange patinas achieved through oxidation and brazing. Each piece adopts a unique organic form, evoking the abstract and biomorphic explorations of the European Brutalist movement of the 1960s and 70s. All pieces include a wall-mounting system, one with its original socket system, suggesting that this was likely a sculptural lighting ensemble created for an exceptional architectural or interior setting (private mansion, gallery, public building, or decorative commission). The surfaces are deeply textured, worked with hammer and flame, using a technique similar to that of Belgian and French workshops of the period (associated with Daniel d’Haeseleer, Marc D’Haenens, Jean Meeus, etc.). One piece bears an incised pentagonal hallmark "B + D," a poorly documented but high-quality workshop mark, attesting to professional metalwork. Approximate dimensions: 94 × 64 cm (wall sconce with socket), 81 × 49 cm, 43 × 35 cm, 39 × 50 cm, 37 × 21 cm, 47 × 34 cm. Overall length: 3.20 m. Condition: Very good overall condition, original patina preserved, minor marks and wear consistent with age. Period: Circa 1965–1975. Signature: Incised workshop stamp "B + D" in a pentagonal cartouche. Provenance: Private collection of an art enthusiast, Southwest France.
