Large terracotta bust on pedestal representing Hermes.
Late 19th century.
Bronze-like patina.
Very fine work in good condition.
Based on the ancient Greek statue discovered in 1877 in the ruins of the temple of Hera at Olympia.
Traditionally attributed to Praxiteles (4th century B.C.), it is on display at the Olympia Archaeological Museum.
