Saint Joseph with a Fleur-de-lis, 19th-century Parisian porcelain, glazed in white and gold

Created in the 19th century in France at the Parisian porcelain factories, this sculpture pays homage to Saint Joseph, husband of the Virgin Mary, holding a fleur-de-lis.

Since the art of fine porcelain had not yet been fully mastered in France, it was in the 19th century that it saw its greatest advances and innovations, as exemplified here by this piece, which today seems commonplace to us but was, in its time, a true masterpiece.

Entirely hand-sculpted and hand-painted, this Saint Joseph is covered in 18k gold-leaf enamel in shades of white and beige, giving the piece a realistic and moving quality. It is in very fine overall condition, ideal for a collection of religious porcelain figurines.

Fast and careful shipping to France, Europe, and worldwide.
