Superb Italian terracotta representing a beautiful Venus in the shelter of a scallop shell supported by two dolphins on a background of waves. Just like this charming piece, the fine, meticulous craftsmanship of this harmoniously proportioned, highly elegant subject is a pleasure to behold. The symbolism is beautiful and the subject of this nymph of the sea protected in a beautiful shell, is an idea in the Italian Baroque spirit, signed V. Incondnghiglia at the beginning of the 20th century. The beautiful bronze-beaded base is a Tuscan ochre breche marble. The whole forms a small masterpiece of a unique piece. In good condition.
