Antique Neapolitan polychrome wooden sculpture depicting a blessing child.

The child, with their childlike and naturalistic proportions, head slightly inclined, and large, forward-facing eyes, rests on a carved and gilded wooden base.

The raised, open arms and hands arranged in a gesture of blessing and welcome lend the anatomical representation a simplicity while respecting its essential forms.

The complexion is rendered in rosy hues concentrated on the face, chest, and knees.

    Provenance: Naples, 18th century.

    Dimensions: 17 x 17 cm, H 36 cm
