Long oak panel carved in the round, originally decorating the center of the front of a chest, from the late 16th or early 17th century.

Good condition and beautiful patina despite several cracks in the wood (see photos). The central panel is also framed by an ornamental leafy frieze characteristic of this type of chest.

"Diana of Poitiers" with a stag surrounded by an ovoid crown supported by two nymphs, with two feathered figures at the ends, taking us back to the discovery of the New World a century earlier.
