    Pair of torch-bearing angels in gilded and polychromed wood.
    From the Italian school, these two curly-haired seraphim rest on bases richly carved with clouds, scrolls, and cherub faces.
    Sculpted in the Italian Renaissance tradition of contrapposto, the angels' poses are dynamic and lively; they seem to be advancing towards us.
    Lavishly gilded, the tunics with sculpted pleats extend into flowing capes reminiscent of flames. These capes complement the large, outstretched wings.
