Pair of large George III English style wing chairs, 19th century period.
Carefully carved dark wooden structures: cabriole feet ending in claws holding a ball (ball-and-claw feet), an emblematic motif of the Georgian ornamental repertoire, topped with knees decorated with acanthus leaves in high relief. Belt carved with foliage and floral motifs in bas-relief. High wing-shaped back, characteristic profile of English shepherdesses from the second half of the 18th century. Original sage green velvet, heavily worn, with frayed and torn areas, particularly on the armrests: complete reupholstery required (can be carried out on request by our workshops). Wooden structures in very good condition, with no intervention reported. Sold in pairs.
