Elegant Louis XVI style giltwood armchairs known as "Marquise" from the Napoleon III period, with a large traditional seat, straps, springs and horsehair. This very comfortable seat has a so-called quilted finish on a fabric with a pale yellow background adorned with gold patterns, reminiscent of gold leaf paneling. The backsplash, also quilted, is covered with the same fabric on the front and back of the back. This slightly arched one is crowned in the center with a wreath of flowers tied and surrounded by foliage. On each side, a nicely gadrooned pommel overlooks three patterns of foliage.
Two recessed armrests joining the backrest are finely carved with pearls and acanthus leaves. The low structure is made up of a slightly curved front cross member and a frame around its perimeter. The feet are turned, spindle and grooved. The front feet are gadrooned on the top.
These rare and high quality Louis XVI style "Marquise" style armchairs look great in a refined interior.
