Sublime duchesse in molded and carved gilded wood, resting on six arched legs underlined by floral motifs.

The very elegant duchesse, which first appeared in France under Louis XV, was used by elegant ladies as a daybed.

Numerous floral and other carved motifs throughout the piece.

Entirely reupholstered in the finest floral silk and passementerie, upholstered by father and son since 1880.

Entirely restored period woodwork, double-sided cushions, original gilding with some age wear.
