Harp Chair" model
Denmark, 1970s edition
Designed in 1962, the Harp Chair was awarded the prestigious design prize at the Copenhagen Companys of Joiners in 1963.
Inspired by the arched curves of a drakkar's bow and stern, this piece was first presented as the "Viking Chair" at its inaugural exhibition in 1963. Later, its braided rope structure, reminiscent of harp strings, led a journalist to rename it the "Harp Chair". Its elegance lies in its meticulous design: curved legs meet harmoniously in the center, while the seat, finely braided into a pavilion halyard, highlights the nobility of the material.
