Stamped C. F. DROUILLY on the back of the rear seat rail.

Claude-François Drouilly, a furniture joiner, registered his master's degree in Paris on July 27, 1748; he then lived for some twenty years on rue de Charenton, "above that of Planchette". He was responsible for some fine Louis XV chairs in carved walnut, marked C. F. DROUILLY.
