These original chairs are a creation of the reign of Napoleon III who likes to borrow patterns from past centuries. Here, the string of decorative balls forming the uprights, legs and struts is a loan from the Louis XIII style. This second half of the 19th century, certainly reproaching this ancient style for being too squat, preferred the shape of the chairs rather than that of the armchairs. A timely choice indeed which gives this rare model a lightness and originality that the Louis XIII did not have.
In perfect condition, these perfectly upholstered chairs can nevertheless receive a more modern fabric that will not fail to highlight the modernity of their lines.
