Star-shaped stool with a height more suited to decoration than to sitting. It is likely that this piece was designed for an exhibition and/or to appear in catalogs, purely for prestige. It comes to us in excellent condition. Stamped FIUME* in the belt of the stool.
Diameter: 35 cm, height: 90 cm.
* The Manufacture de Fiume, a former city of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is located along the Adriatic Sea. Furniture production at this bentwood factory is documented as far back as 1876. It participated alongside Thonet and Kohn in the 1888 World's Fair. Then called Fiumaner Möbelfabriks AG, Vrata joined the Mundus consortium in 1907.
