A set of six fruit knives from the Napoleon III period, circa 1870, a beautiful model with vermeil blades (solid silver covered with fine gold) and carefully carved ivory handles imprinted with a DB monogram in Indian ink.
Our set is a rarity: the vermeil blades are what make our fine knives so original, as vermeil is usually associated with mother-of-pearl rather than ivory.
The blades bear the Minerva 1st grade hallmark (950/1000 silver alloy) as well as a silversmith's mark.
The set is in excellent condition. No flaws, intact ivory (no cracks), and no deformation.
Length: 19.7 cm
