This is quite a complete set, especially as it includes the relatively hard-to-find table knives.
The Boreal model was designed by Luc Lanel (1893 - 1965) in 1929. This designer was responsible for almost all of Christofle's Art Deco pieces.
The sobriety of the Boreal model makes it appear astonishingly modern.
The long, flared sleeves are barely curved, underlined by two folds along the length that widen on the way down to accentuate the flared look. The spatula is cut straight across with broken corners. Of all Luc Lanel's creations, only the América model bears a true resemblance, except that the flats go around the handle instead of stopping at the corners.
The silver-plated menagère we offer is in very good condition, with a beautiful shine. A few pieces have micro-scratches that are not aesthetically detrimental.
You will find 6 dozen pieces of cutlery and 3 serving pieces broken down as follows:
12 20.5 cm table forks
12 table spoons 20.5 cm
12 table knives 24.5 cm
12 18 cm cheese/meters forks
12 dessert spoons 18 cm
12 coffee spoons, 13.5 cm
1 soup ladle, 32.5 cm
1 salad set (2 pieces, spoon and fork) 24 cm
The basic 37-piece menagère is presented in a very clean case, as is the entremet flatware. Only the knives and salad servers are without containers.
Don't hesitate, you're in the presence of a fairly complete set that we'll be delighted to add to as we discover more and more of you!
