Silver metal sugar bowl from the goldsmith Christofle of a famous Marseille shipping company, Messageries Maritimes. The silvering of these pieces consisted of a very good weight to resist the corrosion of sea air, as well as intensive use for restoration. It has a very beautiful engraving with the courier acronym which places it in the 19th century. It is in good silvering condition, however with many small traces of blows or scratches due to its intended use and specific to this type of 'objects.
