Antique Berber rug, known as Boucharouite or Boucharouette, from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco (1950-70). Our example measures 190cm x 102cm. These hand-knotted rugs, made from strips of recycled fabric (rags, bits of wool or cotton yarn, like our example), are unique pieces that inspired many 20th-century abstract painters with their colors and patterns, who often collected them.
