Aubusson rugs stem from a long tradition of weaving in France, more precisely in the town of Aubusson (Nouvelle-Aquitaine region).
Renowned since the 15th century, Aubusson rugs are synonymous with luxury, elegance and refinement.
Inspired by classical French styles (Louis XV, Louis XVI, rococo, neoclassical), they are often floral, with central medallions, garlands, arabesques or pastoral scenes.

The Aubusson factory has been renowned for the excellence of its production of French carpets and tapestries since the 17th century. First Royal, Imperial and then National, it supplied official palaces and aristocratic families.
Petit Point" technique:
Petit point" refers to a very fine embroidery technique, executed by hand, stitch by stitch, often on a tightly woven canvas. The result is exceptionally precise designs. Wool (sometimes mixed with silk) embroidered on a linen or cotton canvas base.
