- Fine verdure woven in the 18th century in a Flemish workshop. This tapestry, typical of the Verdures, offers us an open window onto a verdant landscape where nature coexists with the presence of man, signified by architectural elements in the background. Positioning the observer at the edge of a wood, this perspective allows for the composition of a landscape of great variety and depth; a foreground with tall trees on either side like stage curtains revealing a landscape embellished with a body of water, a winding path leads the eye to what appears to be an abbey, and a background populated by mountains. The vegetation is presented with great vivacity, as evidenced in particular by the sinuousness of the tree trunks, the perceptible movement of the foliage, and the variety of flowers in the foreground.

- This greenery is distinguished by its fine weave (7 threads/cm), which allowed the weavers to meticulously recreate the details of the design, such as the reflections of the tree trunks in the water. Their attention to detail regarding perspective is also palpable; great subtlety is observed in the background, where the foliage and mountains gradually fade to create depth. Furthermore, the volumes are perceptible thanks to the judicious choice of colors; light shades juxtaposed with darker ones, and bursts of light introduced by touches, thanks to the use of golden yellow silk, at the tips of the leaves or on the twisted trunks where the light has rested, piercing the foliage.
 
- The preserved colors offer pleasant shades of blue and green. The deep greens and blues contrast with the numerous uses of silk in the weaving, creating an exceptionally luminous ensemble.
 
- The border is sewn, with a fineness of 8 threads/cm. It is composed of garlands of flowers and fruit, echoing the vegetation in the central scene.

- Fully lined tapestry, with rings as a hanging system.

- Condition: Good overall condition, with some wear, particularly on the lower border (see photos), and a slight tucking in on the right side.
