French Napoleon III clock in gilt bronze and green Alpine marble from the second half of the 19th century.

The green marble base is adorned with gilded bronze applications of floral motifs and rests on circular bronze feet.

The main façade features two putti with trumpets and a large sculpture at the top representing a winged victory.

In the composition, very harmonious despite the richness of the elements, she is traditionally represented as a young, beautiful woman, holding a branch in her hand and a trumpet in her mouth.

The gilding is galvanic.

Galvanic gilding: The discovery of the galvanic technique began in 1791 when Luigi Galvani discovered electric fluid, which is why all electrolytic procedures are called galvanoplasty, derived from his surname Galvani.

Galvanic gold plating is actually a type of electrochemical process in what is known as a galvanic bath, where a thin layer of gold is caused to adhere to a metal using an electric current.

This current carries positively charged gold ions and adheres to the metal, which is more negatively charged. The result is a uniform, thin layer.
