It is surmounted by a sculpture in the round, with a double patina of medal and gold, representing MONTESQUIEU Charles Louis de Secondat, baron de La Brède et de Montesquieu, was a French Enlightenment political thinker, precursor of sociology, philosopher and writer. He was born on January 18, 1689 in La Brède (near Bordeaux) and died on February 10, 1755 in Paris.
