Magnificent and rare French mantel clock with thermometer, circa 1870.
The wooden case is veneered with imitation tortoiseshell and ivory celluloid, a top-quality material. It is impossible to distinguish a genuine tortoiseshell from our clock.
It is very rare to find this type of clock with its original glass dome and base from the same brand.
The movement, entirely cleaned, is equipped with a brocade escapement with crimped pallets and a second hand. It is in perfect working order. It still has its original pendulum, striking a bell every 30 minutes. Both dials are enameled.
In good condition.
56 cm high with glass dome, 48 cm high without dome, 25 cm wide and 17 cm deep.
For your information, all the clocks we sell have been fully overhauled in our workshop. Movements are dismantled and fully cleaned, and our clocks are in working order.
