    Very beautiful writing desk, in boulle marquetry, from the Napoleon 3 period. Elm burl, rosewood, finely chiseled brass inlay. Writing case complete with these 2 inkwells

    The TAHAN house existed at the beginning of the 19th century in Belgium, Spa, then moved to Paris where it quickly became very prosperous. She provided the Imperial Furniture Guard who ordered a number of items from her. It takes the name Maison TAHAN, Supplier of the Emperor.
    The TAHAN house was present at exhibitions from 1849 to 1867 and won numerous medals, including the gold medal in 1867.
    After the fall of the Empire, the TAHAN house will not be able to forget its links with the Emperor.
