The style is typical of representations of Osei Bonsu.
Osei Bonsu (1900-1977) was a Ghanaian sculptor of Akan culture and more specifically of Ashanti culture.
His talent led him to be the chief sculptor of three Asantehene (absolute monarchs of the Ashanti kingdom): Prempeh I, Osei Tutu Agyeman Prempeh II and Opoku Ware II.
His work is exhibited at the British Museum, the Ghana National Museum and the Fowler Museum at UCLA.
