Dating from the last quarter of the 18th century, this desk is a beautiful Parisian production, inlaid with precious wood and adorned with beautiful bronze, this tiered secretary can also take the name of happiness of the day is very refined, it is to be compared to the productions great cabinetmakers like Jacques Bircklé among others, where we find the same quality of cabinetmaking,
Large for this type of furniture, the set consists of a table with sheathed legs, opening with a large belt drawer, on the inlaid top rests a tier with 4 drawers and 2 curtain finished with a white marble top veined, surrounded by an openwork gallery.

Perfectly executed and neat, the frame is mainly made of oak, just like the drawers.
The tier is removable from the table, it is held in place by 2 small tenons,
the whole piece of furniture is covered with exotic veneer, the cabinetmaker decorated the surfaces by playing on the contrasts of colors and veins. The feet are veneered with satin reserves framed with fine boxwood fillet on a background of amaranth, above, each mace head is veneered with a reserve in rosewood framed with boxwood and also on a background of amaranth, the sides and fronts of the drawers are dressed in chevron rosewood panels in green net frames and double rosewood and violet wood flower beds separated by a fine boxwood net,
The uprights and cross members of the tier are veneered with amaranth.
The top whose cutout is punctuated by projections at 4 angles is inlaid with a large "butterfly wing" pattern made of rosewood whose projection cutout is underlined by green tinted wood threads connected to the corners by "Greek" has complications.
The 2 slatted curtains are veneered with violet wood presenting 2 marquetry "paintings" made on a satin background and representing bouquets of country flowers articulating around a woven basket.
The cabinetmaker has taken care of the details with the interiors of the tier which are veneered with satin panels framed with boxwood and violet wood.
The whole is enhanced with beautiful chiseled, gilded and amatis bronzes, which are all original, with the exception of a small drawer rosette.
The mass heads of the base are thus covered with foliated rosettes with flower buds, we also find a more rare bronze model on the reserves of the tier, which is reminiscent of the bronzes used by Cramer, they form a base of acanthus leaves from which a sunflower flower stalk emerges. The ornamentation is completed by lock entries in the form of foliage nets, as well as by pull rings with a torus motif of laurel leaves falling on rosettes molded with fine rows of pearls. The 4 feet are finished with molded shoes and the marble is taken in a pierced bronze gallery, already well decorated, it seems that this piece of furniture was originally adorned with more bronzes.
The belt drawer is fitted with its period lock as are the 2 theater curtains. The whole is in very good condition.
