Modify
Large festive mug in turned birch wood, from the end of the 18th century; thick carved lid, engraved border, center decorated with a heraldic lion, emblem of the Kingdom of Norway. The thumb piece is also a lion carved in high relief, wooden handle with its leaf-shaped foot pegged to the body, skated feet in the shape of lying lions.
It is a ceremonial mug, weddings or family celebrations, it was passed from hand to hand to drink to health, and these objects were passed faithfully from generation to generation.

The tankard has undergone restorations at certain times, a large crack in the lid has been filled, another on the edge of the lid deserves to be, otherwise, the body, the handle and the thumb rest are in good condition. Some wormholes, few in number. See our candid photos,
