- Carved and polychrome oak wall lamp with lion's head
- The "naive" treatment of this carved decoration contributes to the expressiveness of the figures. In the center, a roaring lion's head faces us, its mouth open and its lower fangs visible. Its features are stylized, surprising in their natural simplicity as much as in their effectiveness (the wave-like undulations of the mane, the quillwork of the lips, the exaggerated curl of the frowning eyebrows, the deeply sculpted pupils pointing upwards, the ears signified by two marks.
This protome is presented as a medallion encircled by a green border, followed by a frieze of laurel leaves and flowers. The whole is positioned on a cartouche with moving forms, surmounted by an angel's head with outstretched wings.
- The overall effect is a harmonious blend of yellow, green and red.
-18th century work. The polychromy is later.
